The Old Firehouse was purchased in 2003. At that time it housed a small ice cream parlor in the main area, a managers living quarters and a couple rooms upstairs. The new owners set about to turn the main area into a top notch full service restaurant to serve Creede's summer visitors. The decor was completely redone to reflect the history of the building as a firehouse. The menu was redesigned to offer a full range of casual dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The ice cream and deserts which made the Firehouse famous were expanded to encompass more flavors.

The building was remodeled to expand the seating for guests. The front balcony was added to provide diners an opportunity to watch the activities on the main street. The rear area was remodeled to create a retail space which has been home to Creede Soap and Candle Company now for several years.

In 2007 Charles Maze joined the team as the executive chef and manager of the property. He has a long history with the property and actually worked in the kitchen there while attending high school in Creede. His award winning culinary skills and management experience have helped The Old Firehouse grow to the number one dining establishment in Creede.
